Adriana Chechik has been physically assaulted while hiking with her dogs at Los Angeles’ Dr. Mario DeCampos trail. Chechik says she defended herself by fighting off the attacker – with her dogs helping her out – and then proceeded to file a report.
Got assaulted on Dr. Mario DeCampos trail. I fought off the attacker and have filed a report. I recommend staying away or hiking with self defense. I’m ok, my dogs did a good job aiding me. pic.twitter.com/syqx6ACAiZ— adriana chechik (@adrianachechik) February 12, 2021
Later expressing support for the Second Amendment, Chechik expressed her wish to be able to “carry”, noting “LA is hard”, following a suggestion by a follower.

The Dr. Mario A. DeCampos Trail, also known as Sulfur Spring Road, is a hiking area located at the Suburban neighborhood of Granada Hills, Los Angeles, California, and managed by the City of Santa Clarita’s Parks, Recreation, and Community Services. It is named after a well-known family doctor who used to operate in the area.
If you want to visit the area, Chechik now recommends “staying away or hiking with self defense”.
